Honors Sponsored Cultural/Social Events
Going to school in the Boston area creates a world of opportunity for students to explore the culture and flavor of the city. The Honors staff purchases tickets to various events throughout the school year to allow students to take advantage of what Boston has to offer. Ticket costs are subsidized by the Honors Program and allow students to attend these events at far below the average cost of a single ticket.
These events include trips to the theatre for plays and musicals, the ballet (Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker is a yearly sellout), and concerts at Symphony Hall by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Past events have included the musicals Avenue Q, Mamma Mia, and The Riverdance, the popular long-running show Blue Man Group, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Taming of the Shrew.
Event listings are posted on the Honors website, and in the Honors Office. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Checks only, please (No cash; No Husky Card). An Honors student can buy one ticket per event. Students interested in attending events should plan on buying tickets on the first day they are on sale. Many events sell out quickly!
