The Alden and Peabody Scholarships
The Honors Program awards scholarship monies provided by the George Alden Trust and the Amelia Peabody Scholarship Fund to students who have financial need and complete the honors eligibility requirements.
Each year, over $200,000 is given to Honors students in the form of scholarships from these funds. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of a student's GPA, demonstrated financial need and active participation in the Honors Program.
The Amelia Peabody Scholarship fund is available for students who have a 3.4 GPA, have demonstrated financial need and actively participate in the Honors Program. The George Alden Trust is available for students who have a 3.4 GPA, demonstrated financial need, actively participate in the Honors Program and maintain permanent residency or exclusively reside in Worcester County, Massachusetts.
Students may apply for the scholarships for the 2010-2011 Academic Year if they meet the following criteria:
First Year Students:
- Completion of three Honors classes by the end of the spring 2010 semester.
Upper class Students:
- Completion of three Honors classes prior to the fall 2009 plus at least one additional course completed by the spring 2010 semester.
Students who have completed Honors Course Distinction also meet the active participation eligibility criteria.

In addition, domestic students must file a FAFSA by March 1, 2010; have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better; and file an Honors Scholarship form to the Honors Program office by April 9, 2010.
