Steamboat Foundation Summer Scholar
The Steamboat Foundation is dedicated to mentoring tomorrow's leaders today. Recognizing that early professional experiences and exposure can shape future career success, their mission is to provide outstanding university students with a fully funded opportunity to work side-by-side with influential leaders in a range of high-profile professional fields. The Steamboat Foundation Fellowship site for Northeastern University is the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Massachusetts. The selected Steamboat Scholar will work under the guidance of either Steve Sallan, M.D., chief of staff and the Quick Family Senior Investigator in Pediatric Oncology or George Demetri, M.D., the director of the Center for Sarcoma and Bone Oncology. A candidate must be a third year undergraduate having the support and highest recommendation of Northeastern University. The Steamboat Scholar will work over the summer for approximately 10 weeks. The Steamboat Foundation will award a $12,000 grant to the selected Steamboat Scholar recipient. As part of the Fellowship, the Scholar will attend a two-day orientation, a reception at the Forbes Galleries, several Foundation Dinners with distinguished guests, bi-weekly Leadership evenings with facilitator Dr. Tom Inck and other social events in and around New York.More information on the Steamboat Summer Scholar program
