Joining Once You Are Here
Students may apply to join the Honors Program at specific points in
their academic career:
- Incoming first year students are automatically reviewed by the
Admissions Office and the Honors Program and are invited
to participate based on their high school academic record,
including achievement on the SAT and/or ACT tests and
high school GPA, leadership and community service.
- First year students may apply at the end of the first semester their freshmen year and also at the end of their second semester freshmen year.
- Application are due November 2, 2009 for spring 2010 and April 1, 2010 for fall 2010. In addition to the completed application, students must also complete an interview with an Honors staff member and provide an on campus reference. Click here to apply.
- Students with junior or senior standing may apply if they have
a minimum cumulative 3.6 GPA and intend to complete the
Junior/Senior Honors project as defined by their college.
- Transfer students to Northeastern are welcome to apply to
the Program after achieving a minimum cumulative 3.6 GPA
after at least one semester of study at Northeastern
or they may petition to join the Honors Program based on their
pre-Northeastern academic record. They must also meet the
above entry points.
