Quinn Bott

Quinn had the amazing opportunity to travel to the city of Jaumave, Mexico as a part of International Service Learning. Under the expertise of his mentor he traveled around the Gulf of Mexico which enabled him to fully experience the culture whilst becoming more knowledgeable about the Mexican healthcare system. Through engaging activities and practical applications, Quinn was able to further his education concurrently developing his conversational and medical Spanish terminology. There were multiple 'once in a life time experiences' during his trip from, Hike for Humanity, to hands on medical and dental training, to zip-lining across a canyon! Jay Cinq Mars

During a directed study abroad to Spain, Jay researched archival history and culture thanks to an opportunity from a Provost Undergraduate Research Grant. He spent six weeks exploring half a dozen of Spain's strikingly beautiful cities. Throughout his travels he developed his research on the Spanish Civil War and Soviet espionage while he stayed at the home of Archivo General de la Guerra Civil Esplanda. In his research he not only uncovered incredible historical documents he also managed to have some fun along the way! His trip was enhanced due to a local University Student who eventually became a great friend that introduced him to authentic local culture, history and politics. Joanna Grab

Joanna was able to be a part of the priveleged first group of students to attend a Partners in the Park Program to Bryce Canyon National Park in Cedar City, Utah. While she was attending the program last spring she was able to have many new experiences. These experiences included helping park rangers and simply enjoying all aspects of the nature that surrounded her. One trek through an isolated part of the canyon was particularly inspirational. During that hike she found a new appreciation for the stillness and silence of the environment which really opened her eyes. To learn more about Partners in the Parks and Joanna's trip click here.

Irene's research for her Honors Project led her to work with Western Lowland Gorillas. Through her previous work in a BU Medical lab and her work on her thesis, Irene became interested in pursuing a future that would allow her to practice veterinary medicine as well as do research.
